The Whisk & Ladle is a blog written by Christine Somera, a professional-amateur chef, sporadic writer and a true lover of all things food.

Here you’ll find recipe ideas and cooking inspiration, as well as musings on quirky ingredients, nifty tools, and restaurant experiences. The blog was created as an outlet for someone who feared her friends might tire of hearing about what she had cooked/eaten/baked/bought, although they never seemed to mind being fed dinner.

After years of learning to cook and bake at the knees of her family, Christine has claimed her rightful place in the kitchen (when she’s not at her day job, that is).  While never completely formally trained, the kitchen is her mana and she is as comfortable with a potato riser as she is in her office, clicking away at her keyboard.

Christine lives in downtown Toronto with her two beautiful dogs, Pablo and Madsen.  In addition to her love of cooking and baking, her hobbies include writing, running, kayaking and is active in her community, helping to raise money for the DareArts Foundation.

Therefore, with The Whisk & Ladle, she plunges forward.
